"Sweet Lou" Piniella has had an illustrious major league career both on and off the field. He's been to the postseason 12 times as either a manager or a player, won 3 championship rings, and not only has he been a "Rookie of the Year", he's also been "Manager of the Year" three times. And who can ever forget how he led our Mariners to a record tying 116 wins back in 2001!
Lou Piniella was chosen this year to give the keynote address at this years Hutch Award Luncheon. He will also be presenting the 48th Hutch Award at the luncheon to Barry Zito, the pitcher for the 2012 World Series champion, The San Francisco Giants. The award is given each year to a Major League Baseball player who best exemplifies the honor, courage and dedication of baseball great, Fred Hutchinson, both on and off the field.
