We have a great update about one of our favorite guests. Back in May, Cliff Schmidt from Literacy Bridge joined us to share the work his organization is doing to bring communication to remote areas of the world. The "Talking Books" offer up everything from farming tips to crucial medical information. The idea is to bring this informationto people in their own language, bridging the gap if they are unable to read.
Cliff's work caught the attention of former President Bill Clinton, who invited him to take part in the annual "Clinton Global Initiative" meeting in New York attended by heads of state, chief executives, major non profits and other global leaders. Very few "small" organizations are invited, so this was a huge honor for Cliff, who joined us to talk about his amazing experience. Cliff's not taking time to relax, though; he leaves on Wednesday to travel to Ghana to work with UNICEF on health issues affecting mothers and babies.
