Author John Fahey believes that Lake Chelan is the greatest lake in the world - and he journeyed around the globe on a quest to bolster that belief. After visiting hundreds of lakes on four continents, John detailed his adventures in a book (aptly titled) "Lake Chelan: The Greatest Lake in the World."
John joined Margaret to talk about the book and his quest. He also offered up a 3 day weekend at one of his vacation homes on Lake Chelan to a lucky audience member. In addition to the book and home drawing, John brought wine from Wine Girl Wines in the Chelan region, which began in Seattle! Here's more information about the wine's Derby Wife label and its maker:
This is a Rosé wine made from Lake Chelan grown grapes. Award-winning winemaker Angela Jacobs makes this label, ‘My Derby Wife’, as a tribute to her time playing roller derby in Seattle. She moved the winery from Seattle two years ago because she believed the Lake Chelan AVA had the most potential to produce unique and world-class wines. Also known as the WineGirl, she makes this wine and many others at her winery called The Blending Room by WineGirl Wines on the North Shore of Lake Chelan.
