An elementary school teacher in Kent is looking to share his passion for teaching and win some money for his school at the same time. Jeromie Heath teaches fifth grade at Pine Tree Elementary. He spends extra hours (and his own money) to make lessons memorable and fun for his students. Now, he's one of six finalists in People Magazine's "Teacher of the Year" competition.

Jeromie joined guest host Kim Holcomb to share the inspiration for his unusual and fun lesson plans, as well as how we can help him win the contest. A number of his students were in the audience, along with their parents, and a few shared what they've learned from him.

Vote for Jeromie Heath in People magazine's Teacher of the Year contest. (votieng ends September 5, 2013)
