Karch Kiraly has been hailed as the "greatest volleyball player of the 20th century" by the sport's highest governing body. He's the only player to win Olympic gold in both indoor and beach volleyball (1984/Los Angeles, 1988/Seoul, 1996/Atlanta), not to mention several NCAA national championships while playing at UCLA. Following a long playing career, Karch turned his attention to coaching, and as assistant coach, helped guide the US women's team to silver medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. He's now head coach for the US Women's National Volleyball Team.
Karch joined Margaret to talk about the upcoming NCAA Volleyball Championship, taking place December 19 (semifinal rounds) and 21 (championship game) at KeyArena. They also chatted about the University of Washington women's volleyball team, who just clinched the Pac 12 championship and is considered a strong contender for the national title, as well as the incredible 2005 UW women's team, who won the national title that year.
