The Seattle Mariners' home opener is tonight, as the M's welcome the Houston Astros to Safeco Field. A number of special guests and former players will be at the Safe to kick things off, including Jamie Moyer, the "winningest" pitcher in Seattle Mariners history. He's also among the elite in the Major Leagues, with 269 career wins. If that's not enough, Jamie proved that age IS just a number, becoming the oldest player (at age 49) to win a major league game when he pitched the Colorado Rockies to a 5-3 win over the San Diego Padres last April!
Jamie chatted with Margaret about his time with the Mariners and his amazing career, as well as how he feels to be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at tonight's game. He also updated us about the work he and his wife Karen have been doing through The Moyer Foundation, not just here in Western Washington, but in every city with a major league baseball team.
He wrapped things up by teaching Margaret how to throw one of his signature pitches!
