Summer in the Northwest simply would not be the same without the annual Seafair Festival. This year marks the festival's 65th year of bringing the community together for fun activities from the Torchlight Parade to the thrilling hydroplane races. Since 1950, Seafair royalty have reigned over the festival, representing the City of Seattle. Chosen for their philanthropy, leadership, and inspiration in the Puget Sound community, this year's King and Queen have demonstrated it all. We were thrilled to welcome the 2014 Seafair Royalty to the show today for a special round of New Day Hot Topics. Joining us were Queen Alcoyne, former governer Chris Gregoire, and King Neptune, newly retired Seahawk cornerback Marcus Trufant.
