More than five million people in the U.S. are estimated to suffer from chronic hepatitis B or C, but about 10 percent of these people don't even know they're infected. Symptoms often don't show up until late in the disease process.
Recently a nationwide clinical trial got underway to research and study new treatments for hepatitis B and Seattle's Benaroya Research Institute is one of the institutes chosen to host the study.
Tickets are $20 per day, or you can buy multiple day packages at www.boeingclassic.com.
Ongoing research to understand diseases like hepatitis and liver disease are key to finding cures. Coming up on August 23rd through 29th is the Boeing Classic golf tournament at TPC Snoqualmie ridge. Proceeds from this PGA event will go to the Benaroya Research Institute to help study causes and cures to eliminate auto immune diseases.
