You probably heard that earlier this week, Rosie O'Donnell experienced what turned out to be a heart attack. An EKG  revealed her left artery was 99% blocked, but the startling reality is, what happened to Rosie is something far too common.

In fact, a survey conducted by the American Heart Association two years ago revealed that 70% of adults had been told they had a risk factor for heart disease.

A big reason for the Heart Association's annual heart and stroke walk is to remind us that heart disease kills, and sometimes simple lifestyle changes are what's needed to improve our health.

The deadline to send your nominations for the lifestyle change awards is August 30th. Awards will be given out at the Heart and Stroke Walk, both in Seattle and Tacoma. And it's not too late to register to be part of the walk, either.

This year's heart walk will be on October 6th at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, and October 20th at the Seattle Center.
