Her husband is the cool-thinking quarterback who's led the Seattle Seahawks to their first ever 8-1 record. Ashton Meem married college sweetheart Russell Wilson in January of last year and celebrated as the 'Hawks drafted Russell three months later. Now, well into their second season in Seattle, Ashton is exploring all the good stuff in the Northwest and making significant contributions in the community.
Ashton joined Margaret to chat about a number of topics, including: how she and Russell get to know a new city, what makes him so level-headed, on and off the field, her own athletic background (she was a competitive freestyle swimmer), and why they feel it's so important to give back to whichever community they call "home." She also shared her pre-game ritual for Russell last season: every week, she bought his favorite salted caramels from Purple Cafe in Bellevue and hid two in his bag (one for him, one for his roommate). To celebrate, Purple Cafe brought salted caramels for everyone in the audience.
