Elvis Presley fans around the world marked what would have been his 78th birthday earlier this week and the celebrations continue. "The King" inspires countless numbers of impersonators from all walks of life - and it never seems to get old. In addition, sweet treats like Top Pot Doughnuts' special "King's Rings" (maple and bacon), help celebrate Elvis' famous taste for unique flavor combinations.
Top Pot Doughnuts' King's Ring
One of the best known Elvis impressionists is El Vez, the self-proclaimed "Mexican Elvis." He brought his colorful musical act to New Day, backed by the band "King of Hawaii," featuring Top Pot Co-Founder Mark Klebeck on guitar. El Vez and Mark then joined Margaret to talk about "The King's" mystique, and the 16th Annual Elvis Invitationals taking place this Saturday, January 12 at the Skychurch at Experience Music Project in Seattle. Show organizers Marlow Harris (dressed as Priscilla Presley) and Peter Verbrugge (dressed as Colornel Tom Parker) made special guest appearances, and also handed out King's Rings to the audience.
