Multiple Sclerosis is a disease affecting the central nervous system (which includes the brain, optic nerves and spinal cord. Right now, more than 2 million people around the world are living with MS, including 400,000 Americans.

This weekend, hundreds of people will bicycle through Skagit, Whatcom and Island counties to raise money for the MS Society. The cyclists include Team Navy, spearheaded by Sharon Dodge, who lives with MS, as well as her husband and their three children. They've tackled the ride together in years past, but have to improvise this year, because dad  - Navy Commander Bill Dodge - is deployed to Afghanistan.

Sharon and the the children: 17 year old Tyler and 13 year old twins Caitlyn and Sarah joined Margaret in the studio to talk about the race, and Bill joined live from Afghanistan via Skype.

The Bike MS event takes place Saturday & Sunday, September 10th and 11. It begins in Mount Vernon and riders can choose from a variety of courses ranging from 22 miles to 92 miles.
