As we head off to the beach or park this summer to soak up the sun, we're all interested in the hottest beach reads of the summer. Our resident librarian, Kelda Vath, tells New Day which books to read this summer.
The Next Best Thing by Jennifer Weiner - Hollywood show biz setting, girl heads to LA to become screenwriter with her 70 year old grandmother, her TV script gets picked up and the plot thickens! Big author, big book. Fun!
Wallflower in Bloom by Claire Cook
A fun story about a family wallflower who works for her famous brother who in a depressed state gets herself voted as a last minute replacement on Dancing with the Stars! Sounds quirky and uplifting!
Cottage at Glass Beach by Heather Barbieri
About a woman who brings her daughters to the coastal Maine town to get away from the scandal of her husband's affair. There's a touch of paranormal, with a bit of romance. Perfect beach read!
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
This one's a runaway hit at the Library (and probably everywhere, lately). It's a psychological thriller with a twist about a husband suspected of killing his wife -- my coworker read it and says it's hard to put down! She read it in one sitting! (It sounds a little dark for me, though.)
