The holidays are a time for giving, as well as a time to remember those who need help to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. At any given time, one in six people in our state will go without at least one meal, to either make sure their children are fed, or because they just can't afford to eat.
Bank of America is working to keep food banks stocked all winter and into the new year with their third annual "Give A Meal" program. They've teamed up nationally with Feeding America for this program, which, in our area, will benefit Food Lifeline and other local food banks. Bob Luciano, Senior Client Manager at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Chef Tom Douglas, a Food Lifeline board member, joined Margaret to talk about "Give A Meal," and the work being done by Food Lifeline to help famlies across the state.
They also talked about a special offer: for every $1 donated to Give a Meal, Bank of America will donate $2 in matching funds, up to $1.5 million. People can donate online or by texting FEED to 50555 (through January 10, 2014)
