A new book with Seattle as the backdrop is getting a lot of attention. And even though the novel "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" pokes fun at the Emerald City, most readers don't seem to mind because the book is so entertaining. In fact, it's sold out at many bookstores in Seattle, and as of this writing, The Seattle Public Library has more than 1300 "holds" on the 132 copies of the book it carries!
Maria joined Margaret to talk about the novel and how much of Bernadette's experience mirrors her own. (Maria moved to Seattle in 2008 after spending a number of years writing for various television comedy shows, including "Mad About You," "Ellen" and "Arrested Development." She did not quite "love" Seattle when she first moved here). Maria also chatted about her TV work and how her uncanny sense of timing comes through in her novel.
