Everybody has a story - and a program called "StoryCorps" has been collecting them for nearly ten years. Since its inception in 2003, the program has collected 40,000 stories from 80,000 people, many of which have aired on NPR's "Morning Edition." Others have appeared in two bestselling books: "Mom: A Celebration of Mothers from StoryCorps" and "Listening is an Act of Love." A new book has just hit shelves just in time for Valentine's Day. Called, "All There Is: Love Stories from StoryCorps."
StoryCorps founder Dave Isays joined Margaret to talk about the program's mission, along with Gloria Roberts, a Seattle-area StoryCorps participant whose poignant love story is included in the book.
Dave will share stories from "All There Is," and Gloria will share her own story tonight, February 7, at Town Hall in Seattle at 7:30 p.m. For more details on the event, click here.
