Our good friend, Olympic swimmer and world record holder Ariana Kukors has been covering the Winter Games as part of the King 5 crew in Sochi and sent us a video message.
This weekend, the Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey team will team up with Microsoft and other companies for the 2014 Hockey Challenge, a daylong tournament that features a number of ameteur teams representing local business. Then, after the T-Birds take on the Kamloops Blazers, the night will culminate with a celebrity all-star game featuring former players, local celebrities and actors playing on teams captained by Ian Furness from Sports Radio 950 KJR and Steve The Producer from The BJ Shea Morning Experience on KISW 99.9 FM. Since the event began in 1998, the Hockey Challenge has raised nearly $4.5 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska.
To talk more about the Hockey Challenge and to take part in our own little in-studio hockey challenge, Margaret was joined by Ian Henry, the Seattle Thunderbirds' Director of Public and Media Relations, "Team Shea" Captain Steve The Producer, and Jackie Soo, a longtime Hockey Challenge participant and member of Manny's Mayhems, who have the honor of kicking off this year's tournament.
