The man behind one of the most beloved and familiar musicals in history lives right here in Seattle. Martin Charnin is the co-creator and lyricist behind Broadway's "Annie". He also originated the role of the Jet known as Big Deal in "West Side Story". Now he's the Artistic Director of Seattle's Showtunes Musical Theatre Company, and opening this weekend is a concert celebrating the music of Irving Berlin.
Showtunes Theatre's production of "The Melody Lingers On" runs Feb. 5-6 at The Moore Theatre. Tickets are available online or at the door.
