It's hard to believe but one out of four people live with mental illness, and many don't seek help or treatment often out of shame or fear. The "National Alliance on Mental Health" or "NAMI" provides free programs to help children, adults and their loved ones cope with these issues. We often talk about breaking the stigma of mental health issues here, so it is our pleasure to feature important event for "NAMI". Gazala Uradnik, Trish McVay and Cher Hill from NAMI's Greater Seattle chapter joined Margaret to talk about NAMI and promote the organization's upcoming fundraising walk. They also reached out to viewers who may be suffering in silence, or at a loss for resources.
The NAMI Walk 2013 will take place on Saturday, May 18 at Marina Park in Kirkland, check in begins at 8 AM. with the walk starting at 9:30 AM.
