Remember when "The X-Files" used to be smart, creepy and highly entertaining?

Welcome to "The X-Files: I Want To Believe," better known as "the land of the stupid people." David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return as agents Mulder and Scully and guess what, they live together. But you won't find much affection, only a psychic pedophile priest looking for body parts.

X-Files 2 is so talky and dumbed down it doesn't even resemble the popular TV series or the first feature film. Billy Connolly plays the priest and Amanda Peet plays a fellow FBI agent. These people couldn't find a murder clue if you put it in front of their nose.

Twentieth Century Fox

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return as agents Mulder and Scully in "The X Files: I Want to Believe."

This X-Files debacle is written and directed without subtlety by the creator of the series, Chris Carter. What was he thinking? His off-putting movie also features animal cruelty, this is not a good story for dogs or humans.

"The X-Files: I Want To Believe" is rated PG-13 and deserves to go directly to video. It's that bad, that insulting, and worst of all, that boring. I loved the series, the new movie is a bottom feeder.
