Cogill: 'Sex and the City' is 'the best chick flick ever made'

07:24 AM PDT on Friday, May 30, 2008

By Gary Cogill / WFAA movie critic

Sex and The City is the "Mother" of all chick flicks, a two hour and twenty minute dazzler of girl talk and high fashion, reuniting the four Manhattan women from the HBO series with Sarah Jessica Parker just about perfect at the center.

Will Carrie finally marry Big? Is Samantha still infatuated with sex? Is Charlotte really happily married, and what's wrong again with Miranda? All your relationship questions will be answered, but more importantly, what are they wearing? /movies/

Sex And The City is written and directed with just the right amount of raunch and estrogen driven humor by Michael Patrick King. Rather than change the formula he kept the formula intact, witty, and emotionally complicated.

Sex And The City is for and about adult women, and be warned, the R rating is for plenty of language and nudity. Leave the kids at home, sip a cosmo and behold a fashionable cinematic banquet of clothes and handbags. A summer movie perfect in it's transformation from the small screen to the big screen, and yes, the best chick flick ever made.
