Ted Schmid found a unique way to save his knees and coast through life in Kingston.
His commute to work is a bit different than most. Ted rides his homemade bamboocycle.
"I kind of think of it as running training wheels so I am able to run without weight bearing," Ted said.
A self-described tinkerer, Ted says he built the bamboocycle out of necessity.
Ted once ran marathons but now he can't even run a few miles without old injuries popping up.
A massage therapist at Kingston Therapeutic Massage, Ted knows the lasting strain injuries can have on the body.
At the end of the day, Ted gets to continue his love of running with this pain-free way to return to the wooded trails.
