Two more former Seattle Mariners are joining the legendary Edgar Martinez on the ballot for the National Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
Martinez is on the ballot for the ninth year. His name appeared on 58.6% of ballots last year -- his eighth year of eligibility. 75% is required for induction. Martinez is eligible to remain on the ballot in 2018 and 2019.
The Mariners retired his No. 11 last season, joining only the No. 24 of Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., and the No. 42 of baseball legend Jackie Robinson.
Joining Martinez on the 2018 ballot are former Mariners pitcher Jamie Moyer and shortstop Omar Vizquel. Moyer played for the Mariners from 1996 through the first half of 2006.
Vizquel entered the Major Leagues as a Mariner in 1989 and played five seasons with the team. He may be most famously remembered for the bare-handed catch and throw to get the final out of Chris Bosio's no-hitter in 1993.
Most of Vizquel's success came with the Cleveland Indians.
