Seattle — From sitcom revivals to mom jeans, one of the "stranger things" about the 20-teens is our current infatuation with everything 80's.
Totally 80's Rewind is an exhibit at Seattle's Living Computers: Museum + Labs. Here, you can see and experience cutting-edge technology just as it existed more than 30 years ago.
Everything on display is "please touch."
"We completely trust the visitor," said curator Aaron Alcorn.
Guests are welcome to play a vintage home video game in an authentic basement setting, complete with old-school answering machine and paint-by-number artwork on the wood-paneled walls.
"It's really hard to get wood paneling," Alcorn said. (Living Computers had to special order theirs from a company in Alabama.)
The arcade display features endless plays on your favorite childhood games.
"The great thing is I work here, so I can play..." Alcorn corrected himself. "I mean, I can do some more 'user testing.' I may get a Slurpee afterward."
And the classroom setup, filled with functioning Apple II computers, feels so real you'll think you've gone back to high school.
The 1980's are still very much alive at Living Computers: Museum and Labs.
The Totally 80's Rewind exhibit runs through Monday, Dec. 31.
