Seattle streetcar slightly damaged in fender bender

SEATTLE - One of the new Lake Union streetcars was slightly damaged Wednesday morning when an SUV ran a red light and hit it.

KING

The streetcar had minor damage to a bumper after a car ran a red light and crashed into it.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Mercer Street and Terry Ave.

There were no injuries.

Police said the SUV driver was cited for running a red light and the streetcar returned to service with a slight damage to the bumper.

The 1.3-mile streetcar line opened one week ago.
