Richard Selby may have trouble finding his way home.
SHELTON, Wash. - An elderly Shelton man who disappeared Wednesday from his Shelton home has been found safe.
Richard Selby, 79, was re-united with his family Tuesday morning.
A Mason County Sheriff's Deputy on routine patrol located Selby parked along Highway 101 about 8 miles north of Shelton. When the deputy approached Selby's vehicle, he was found sitting in the back seat, praying that someone would help get him home.
The deputy quickly re-united Selby with family members. He was said to be very tired and hungry but uninjured.
Selby disappeared at about 9 a.m. on Dec. 6.
During the investigation, the Sheriff's Office received several calls from people in Shelton, Bremerton, and the Shorecrest area who had sited Selby.
Selby was described as being in the early stages of Alzheimer's which contributed to his inability to return home.
The Mason County Sheriff's Office thanked the public for their assistance in the case.
