BELLEVUE, Wash. - What could have been a terrible setback has only made Bellevue High School football players stronger.

"Everyone realizes we're lucky we're going to take this chance fight through this adversity, you know just come together,” said quarterback Cam Warren

The team spent the weekend getting ready for tonight's playoff game that was to have been played on Friday.

The undefeated team was on the way to the game Friday, with 38 people on board a bus, when a vehicle lost a ladder in the road. The driver had to slam on the brakes and swerve to avoid stopped cars, flipping the bus and tossing the team inside.

“And we just flipped. It was crazy,’ said Warren. “I don't really remember, just smashing people on top of me, glass was everywhere, and so everything’s kinda like blurry. It felt like it was like two seconds.”

Eight football players were taken to area hospitals with injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to a dislocated shoulder.

The playoff game the team was headed for was cancelled.

But today, even those who were injured are ready to take the field and finally play that game.

“The staff is just amazed that we have that many kids on the field ready to go,” said Assistant Coach Rick Brown.

"It's a miracle. I don't think people really understand how much of a miracle no one was seriously hurt," said Warren.

Bellevue High school Plays Capital High School at 7 p.m. tonight in Lakewood. The winner of that game goes on to the state championship.

In the meantime, state troopers are still trying to track down the owner of the ladder.
