SEATTLE -- You know what to do with all that leftover turkey, dressing and pie, but you may not know what to do with that leftover grease.

Don’t throw it away. A Seattle company wants to put it to good use.

The deep fried turkey craze is creating a tasty commodity for the bio-fuels industry. The drop-off bays at the General Biodiesel plant are filling up with jugs of leftover holiday grease and they want more.

General Bodiesel is toting away the grease that used to go down the drain causing all kinds of problems. They’re also about to make it very easy for you to collect up your own and dump it in tanks at grocery stores around the region, starting with Whole Foods.

"We want everybody in the State of Washington to come to us and donate their wasted cooking oil. Don't fill up the landfills. Bring your wasted cooking oils to us,” said General Biodiesel CEO Yale Wong.

They will use it produce biodiesel. They've already convinced several local food outlets to pitch in. But they can't get enough of the stuff, so they are joining forces with another local food collector.

It turns out their new source of grease is coming from the centuries old industry of scrap meat processing, not table scraps. Trimmed fats and spoiled cuts can be separated into grease for biodiesel and other products so that nothing is wasted.
