Windy night for Cascade foothills

SEATTLE – The Cascade foothills are in for a windy night.
KING 5 Meteorologist Jeff Renner says a wind advisory is in effect for east King, Pierce and Snohomish counties Wednesday night.
Sustained winds will be between 20-30 mph with possible gusts up to 50 mph.
The winds should die down Thursday morning.

In the mountains, rain will change to snow or a mix of rain and snow. The snow level will drop from 5,000 feet to 3,000 feet.
Southern Washington/Northern Oregon
The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a winter weather advisory for snow in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday for the north Oregon and south Washington Cascades and the Oregon Cascades in Lane County.
The snow level will fall to between 4,000 and 4,500 feet by midday Thursday and down to 3,500 feet Thursday evening. Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are possible by Thursday evening with the highest accumulations at the ski resorts.
Snow will decrease Thursday evening as the weather system moves east of the area.
