SEATTLE – A Western Washington drug task force busted two drug operations last week and seized a combined $300,000 in methamphetamine and marijuana. In addition, several people were detained in immigration

The Northwest Regional Drug Task Force (NWRDTF) says last Friday, officers completed a six-month investigation when they arrested two men making a drug deal in the 3200 block of Old Fairhaven Parkway in Bellingham. The men were arrested and police seized about 2.5 pounds of meth with a street value of about $50,000. Both men were booked on narcotics charges and immigration violations.

In addition, police also searched their residence in Lake Stevens, where they found five more men who are believed to be in the country illegally. Those men have been turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.

On November 10, the NWRDTF and the Columbia River Drug Task Force in Chelan County arrested two men in a big marijuana bust in Bellingham.

An undercover agent bought about a half-pound of pot from a man, leading to his arrest and a search warrant on his home.

At the home, agents found more than 200 marijuana plants worth about $200,000 and ten pounds of processed marijuana worth another $50,000 at street value.

A second man was also arrested on narcotic charges. Both suspects were booked into the Whatcom County Jail.

The Northwest Regional Drug Task Force includes the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office, Whatcom County Prosecutor's Office, Bellingham Police Department, Ferndale Police Department, Washington State Patrol and the U.S. Border Patrol.
