'Charlie Brown tree' causing commotion at Westlake Center
09:01 AM PST on Wednesday, November 14, 2007
SEATTLE - One look at the Westlake Center Christmas tree and everyone seems to have a punch line.
"Actually I was wondering what hillside they got it from, to be honest," said one passerby
"I think on my property I've got one that's a little better that I wouldn't mind donating," said another.
The tree's skimpy stature has more than a few people immediately thinking of the classic Charlie Brown tree.
Charlie Brown was able to move on, but when some people see this, they're stuck in their tracks.

The management at Westlake Center says, hold on. Don't judge the tree as you see it right now they know there's plenty of work still to be done.
The plan is to add "filler branches," especially at the bottom of the 60-foot Douglas Fir, and, of course, add all the lights and decorations.
Last year's 55-foot tree was a bit more "robust."
The Weyerhaeuser Company once again provided this year's tree from a sustainable forest at its St. Helens Tree Farm.
Hopes are high that it will be dazzling for next Friday's big lighting ceremony. If history's a guide, the Westlake Center Christmas tree will look terrific come next Friday. And you can judge for yourself. You can watch the lighting of the tree live during KING 5 News at 5 p.m.
