MOUNT VERNON, Wash. - The man accused in the Skagit County shooting rampage was back in court on Thursday.

As in past hearings, Issac Zamora repeatedly interrupted the attorneys and the judge with loud outbursts in the courtroom.

Zamora’s attorney, Wesley Richards, said for the past week, his client has been uncooperative. We saw more of that in the courtroom Thursday as Richards was arguing that Zamora’s competency evaluation should happen at the Snohomish County Jail, while the state was arguing it should happen at Western State Hospital.

Zamora interrupted the proceedings with an outburst, shouting “You do not represent me, you are fired. You do not speak for me. I will not allow you to speak for me.”

As Zamora’s rant continued, the judge decided it was too disruptive, and ordered him removed from the courtroom.

In the end, the judge decided that Zamora should undergo a competency evaluation and that it should take place at Western State Hospital. He’ll be transported there next week.

The competency evaluation should take a little more than two weeks to complete. Zamora’s arraignment will take place after that.

Zamora, 28, is charged with 20 felony counts, including six counts of aggravated first-degree murder, which could bring the death penalty.

He is charged in the deaths of Deputy Anne Jackson, 40; Chester Rose, 58; Julie Binschus, 48; Greg Gillum, 38; David Radcliffe, 58; and Leroy Lange, 64. Prosecutors also charged him with six counts of attempted murder, including the shooting of a State Patrol trooper who pursued him.
