Amanda Knox getting help from Seattle lawyer

11:09 AM PDT on Saturday, October 4, 2008

SEATTLE - Seattle lawyer Anne Bremner says she's been brought in to help Amanda Knox, a Seattle college student who is one of three people jailed since the November 2007 slaying of Knox's roommate in Perugia, Italy.

Bremner told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer on Friday that she was contacted by a group of Knox supporters, including former King County Superior Court Judge Ed Heavey and leaders at Seattle Prep High School, from which Knox graduated. Knox also attended the University of Washington.

Bremner says the supporters have asked her to "help get the word out about the evidence. Or the lack of evidence, in this case."

Knox, her former Italian boyfriend and another man have all denied wrongdoing in the death of Meredith Kercher. Evidentiary hearings began last month in an Italian court.
