Police block off part of an apartment complex in Kent. Wash. after a man was shot in the stomach on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008.

KENT, Wash. – Police are investigating a shooting that left a man in critical condition Wednesday afternoon after the bullet went into his stomach and out his back.

A Kent Police spokesman says it happened at about 1:20 p.m. at the Bravado Apartments at 26700 27th Place S., just off Pacific Highway S.

Witnesses tell police the suspect approached the victim Wednesday morning and the two argued over money. The suspect left and returned in the afternoon. The two argued again and the victim was shot.

The suspected shooter, believed to be about 30-years-old, took off in an old, maroon American-made sedan.

The victim is believed to be a 21-year-old man from Seattle.

Some Thomas Jefferson High School students who ride the bus home to that area were being kept at school during the initial investigation.
