A chainsaw bursts into flames as a man competes in a competition in Port Gamble.

POULSBO, Wash. - A man participating in a chainsaw competition was injured when his saw suddenly erupted into flames.

The Poulsbo Fire Department says the accident occurred at the Old Mill Days festival in Port Gamble over the weekend.

The 50-year-old man was participating in the Unlimited Chainsaw competition when the accident occurred.

Paramedics treated him for minor burns at the scene.

Old Mill Days draws hundreds of spectators from around the Northwest to see the lumberjack show, chainsaw carving, live music and other events.
