KENMORE, Wash. - Until Friday, a 160-page biography of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was not that big a seller for Epicenter Press of Kenmore.

Then, with 8,000 hardbound copies sold and 3,000 remaining, Sen. John McCain announced that Palin was his choice for the Republican vice presidential nomination.

Now the company's publisher and co-owner, Kent Sturgis, says 40,000 paperback editions are being printed for shipment on Tuesday.

The book, "Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska's Political Establishment Upside Down" by Kaylene Johnson, has been as high as 7th on Amazon.com's best-seller list, which is updated hourly. At midday Sunday it was number 13.
