Wedding photos lost in theft from Seattle photographer

Jenny Jimenez lost hundreds of digital photos from recent weddings.

SEATTLE - A Seattle wedding photographer is trying to find out what happened to some camera equipment that was stolen from her north Seattle home Monday morning, leaving two couples with no pictures from their wedding days.

In addition to $20,000 in camera gear, photographer Jenny Jimenez lost hundreds of digital pictures from two recent weddings in the theft.

"I recently shot two weddings that I was in the process of working up, and they were on my computer. So all of those photographs are gone," said Jimenez. "And those two couples unfortunately don't have anything to remember their wedding by."

The thief or thieves also ran off with some jewelry - including her mom's wedding ring.

"We believe they took a hammer and gloves from the garage and busted on the window," she said.

But the stolen camera and computer equipment are hitting her hardest.

"They put a lot of trust in you to shoot their wedding and I'm always very honored when someone chooses me," she said. "And I do everything I can to protect the images. But unfortunately, this was out of my hands."

Newlywed Bethany Keffer lost her wedding photos in the theft.

She is now asking family and friends who took pictures at her wedding to send copies so she'll have something of her big day.

"I was sick to my stomach a little bit," Bethany said.  "I hadn't seen any pictures yet. I was really anticipating seeing them."

Jimenez -- who's been taking pictures for years -- has made a list of all the stolen items and their serial numbers.

She'll canvass pawn shops and even Craigslist to see if any missing equipment pops up.
