TACOMA, Wash. – Police are investigating the discovery of items at a business Tuesday that could potentially be used to make an explosive device.

However, Tacoma Police say it's not yet clear if that was the intent.

A concerned employee called police to Graymont Western at 1220 East Alexander Tuesday afternoon. Police say the man found suspicious items in a co-worker's locker.

When police arrived, they found a 10-pound bag of fertilizer and lighter fluid.

"The items themselves there's no danger to; they're stocked on the store shelves all the time. But mixing them together is not a good thing," said Paul Liner, of Graymont Western. "When one of the employees spotted it there, he alerted us that he didn't feel safe with that in the locker room so he brought it to our attention."

An employee at Graymont Western found a 10-pound bag of fertilizer and some lighter fluid in a coworker's locker.

The chemicals could be used to make explosives, but when the bomb squad counter-charged them, they didn't explode.

The man has worked at the lime plant for four years, and his manager doesn't know why the worker had the chemicals,

Tacoma police are waiting for a warrant to search the man's home.
