LUCERNE, Wash. - A forecast of 90 degrees Thursday, along with a threat of dry lighting, has raised concerns for firefighters battling the 4,000-acre Domke Lake Complex.

The fire was sparked by lightning on Sunday night.

About 180 people were evacuated from the Holden Village Christian retreat and vacation cabins at Lucerne. They are not threatened, but fire officials fear the fire could block the access road into the area.

Guests and the majority of staff of Holden Village were evacuated on Tuesday, while a skeleton crew stayed behind to maintain essential operations. According to their Web site, the Village is asking that people who live in the Chelan and/or Wenatchee area who would like to help their departing guests and staff, call the Holden Bed and Breakfast at (509) 687-8102.

The wildfire has also forced the closure of several trails and campgrounds. Domke Lake, Hatchery, Stuart, and Lucerne campgrounds are all closed, and the Domke Mtn.Trail No. 1280.1, Domke Lake Trail No. 1280, Emerald Park Trail No. 1230, Mirror Lake Trail No. 1230.1, and Lower Railroad Creek Trail No. 1240 are closed.

About 600 firefighters and other personnel and four helicopters are working the blaze, which is burning in steep terrain in the Wenatchee National Forest. The fire was 10 percent contained Wednesday.
