Injured child arrives at Harborview Medical Center

BARING, Wash. - A 5-year-old boy is recovering today after falling out of a two-story window.

It happened Friday night in the town of Baring, along Highway 2 between Index and Skykomish.

The boy was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

He fell about 12 feet.

Authorities say this is a common accident as the weather gets warmer.

Last summer, at least 25 children were rushed to the emergency room after falling out of an open window.
