SEATTLE – A teacher at Seattle's Whitman Middle School accused by a former girlfriend of having child porn on his computer was charged Tuesday.
Timothy Sheehan faces one count of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, a class C felony according to the King County Prosecutor's Office.
If convicted, the 50-year-old faces up to one year in jail.
According to court documents, the former girlfriend told Seattle Police that Sheehan showed her images on his home computer of minors in sexually explicit acts.
When detectives went to serve a search warrant to look at the computer, Sheehan allegedly told them it was at school.
Detectives seized the computer and found 39 images they say show minors in sexually explicit acts.
Sheehan is scheduled to be arraigned on June 12th.
