BUCKLEY, Wash. – A high school teacher who allegedly had sex with one of her students has been fired and charged with two felonies.
White River High School physical education and health teacher Rebekah Todd is expected to be arraigned in Pierce County Superior Court June 15 on one count of first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor and one count of second-degree sexual misconduct with a minor.
The alleged victim in the case is a 17-year-old football player. Todd is about 25.

The incident is not the first time Todd's conduct has been the subject of attention.
She was suspended for allegedly drinking with students at an off-campus graduation party last June, but was reinstated because there was no proof the incident occurred.

She was suspended once again last December after showing a strip tease video to her female students.
"It was very outrageous when we heard about his video. She actually showed this video as a reward for them doing well in her class," said PTSA President Megan Hernandez.
Todd began teaching in 2004 at the age of 23 and was considered cool and hip by students at the school.
But the charges and the district's failure to act soon after reports of problems initially arose with Todd has drawn the ire of some. Todd was fired in March of this year, a month after the sexual misconduct allegations surfaced and one year after her conduct first drew attention.
"These are very serious charges. This is a teacher who should be a respected person in our community. We send our kids to school, expecting that they are going to be safe, and when this comes about we just see that that's not true," Hernandez said.
"Over and over again, this teacher abused her position… I believe that [the district] was well aware," Hernandez said.
School district officials confirmed that they suspended Todd three times but could not fire her without proof of wrongdoing.
"When we had the specific evidence that could lead to her termination, we put her on administrative leave and acted on it," said Tom Lockyer, superintendent for the White River School District.
