Family of 6 arrested in Camas, Wash. meth raid

11:37 AM PDT on Saturday, May 24, 2008

By Associated Press

CAMAS, Wash. - In a raid by SWAT officers at a Camas home, police have arrested six members of a family.

Cmdr. Rusty Warren of the Clark-Skamania Drug Task Force says the house has been a trouble spot in Camas for a long time.

The owner of the home, 67-year-old Richard M. Climenson, was arrested on suspicion of maintaining a drug house, a felony crime.

Five other residents of the home were jailed for allegedly manufacturing meth: 37-year-old Aaron W. Kelly, 50-year-old Pamela Elaine Kelly, 27-year-old Jennifer Eck, 55-year-old Donald Eck and 23-year-old Steven Climenson.

In the 6 a.m. raid on Friday, police said they found a methamphetamine lab that was producing small amounts of the illegal stimulant.

The State Patrol says neighbors alerted police to the lab after smelling solvents and witnessing suspicious activity.

Trooper Dave Bourland says officers broke up a meth lab in the same house seven years ago.
