"The worst tragedy and worst nightmare a parent could go through," said Jesse's aunt, Jatinder Atwal.

Jesse's family is relying on their faith to help them deal with the tragedy.

"Please pray for our Jesse so he can peacefully be with God, said Jatinder Atwal.

Jesse had gone to a house party in northeast Kent on Friday night.

When the party broke up at about midnight, Jesse went with some friends to hang out in the 10900 block of Southeast 230th Street, next to Park Orchard Elementary.

Police say some other young men showed up and a fight broke out.

Jesse may have stepped in to try to break up the fight, and was stabbed in the abdomen.

He attempted to drive for help, but he only made it a block before he ran into a curb.

"I walked over there to the car and it didn't look so good. He was passed out in his car," said witness Chris Wallace.

The family is asking that anyone with information come forward.

"I would like them to please come forward so we can solve this puzzle," said Atwal. "And please help us catch the person who did it."

Family members say Jesse was a volunteer with the Federal Way Police Dept.

The investigation into the stabbing and what precipitated the fight is continuing.  No arrests have been made.
