LYNNWOOD, Wash. – A high school senior who allegedly attacked a 10-year-old girl in her bedroom over the weekend may be linked to more than a dozen burglaries since 2005, some of them sexually motivated.

"Just scared me so bad," said the girl. "Wake up to find this man you don't even know on your bed."

The girl says she thought she felt a spider on her neck early Sunday morning. It was actually the hand of an 18-year-old man who was sitting on her bed.

"This man, a full grown man with a sweatshirt over his face sitting criss-cross applesauce right by me watching me sleep," said the girl.

The fourth grader screamed at the top of her lungs. When the stranger tried to silence her by shoving his hand in her mouth, she bit down and then kicked him off her bed.

"The number one rule about fighting for your life is, there is no rules. You do whatever is necessary," said the girl.

The suspect ran down the hall, where he was confronted by the girl's father.

"I can just see that guy still when I close my eyes, just running down my hall … some stranger in my house," said the father. "He tried to bite me, he flipped around and I was holding him."

But the man broke free and ran out the door.

Lynnwood Police, who were already on their way to the neighborhood due to another attempted break-in in the area, cornered the man with K-9's and took him into custody.

The suspect is 18-year-old Joseph Habte-Egzy, a senior at Meadowdale High School. Prosecutors allege the teen confessed to Sunday's break-in and several others dating back to 2005. Police say all of them appear to be sexually motivated. He is being held on multiple counts of burglary and one count of indecent liberties. Bail is set at $1 million.
