FORT LEWIS, Wash. - A Fort Lewis battalion of soldiers will be deployed to Iraq for a third time.

Of the nearly 500 members of the 14th Combat Engineering Battalion, about half have deployed to Iraq before.

One off them is Sergeant First class Jesus Pedrazza.

"For myself, I've been in approximately eight IED explosions, five very serious IED explosions … My hearing's not great."

His wife holds their new baby, and prepares to cope again.

"Working is the easiest way to hold up. Keep myself busy. And participate in the FRG, which is the Family Readiness Group. Just to keep myself updated, and sort of "in the know,'" said Chad Predrazza.

The battalion's mission will be searching out and destroying Improvised Exploding Devices, road repair and general construction.

The unit first deployed in November 2005 and in August 2006.
