Police say the suspect crashed his car into his girlfriend's apartment.

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Traffic at 320th and Pacific Highway South was diverted for hours after a crash that had investigators combing three crime scenes.

It all began at around 5 a.m. when a woman living at the Twin Lakes Apartments called 911 saying her boyfriend, who had just allegedly shoplifted beer at a convenience store, wouldn't leave. The suspect decided to drive his car through the fence. Then he took dead aim at her apartment.

"He was not let in and then he crashed his car into the apartment several times before he left," said Commander Steve Neal of the Federal Way Police Dept.

As police were arriving at the scene, heading westbound on 320th, they caught a glimpse of the suspect speeding away in the opposite direction.

They decided to lay tire bursting stop strips on the road.

"We did put out some tire deflating devices and some spike strips that were successful about 100 yards prior to the intersection," said Neal.

That intersection was 320th and Pacific Highway South. Heading in the opposite direction was an SUV driven by a 14-year-old, with two teenaged passengers.

"However, the vehicle sped through those into the intersection against the red light and ran broadside into a vehicle that was traveling westbound onto 320th," said Neal.

The 14-year-old driver and a 15-year-old male passenger were taken to the Franciscan Health Center with non-life threatening injuries.

A 16-year old female who was ejected from that car and the domestic violence suspect are at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious condition.

"His license was suspended. We do suspect he was DUI. There's the theft charge at the AM-PM store, and there are some domestic charges from the apartment," said Neal.

The 14-year-old was driving his parents' SUV.

Police say the 40-year-old suspect may also face felony vehicular assault charges.
