2.8 quake rattles area near Port Orchard

GIG HARBOR, Wash. - A 2.8 magnitude earthquake rattled the area near Port Orchard Thursday morning, causing no major damage but jolting a few residents. 

A preliminary earthquake report indicated the small quake happened around 7:08 a.m. about 8 miles northwest of Gig Harbor. A KING 5 viewer said the earthquake lasted about 40 seconds.
