SEATTLE -The King County Council in Seattle plans to adopt an image of Martin Luther King Junior on Monday as the county logo.
It would replace a "crown" design that has represented the county for 39 years.
The council changed the county's name to honor King in 1986 but it didn't have the force of law until the Legislature passed a law in 2005.
When it was created in 1852, the county was named after U-S Vice President William Rufus DeVane King.
