State Patrol nabs man going 110 mph

10:39 PM PST on Monday, February 25, 2008

Repeat offender caught by WSP air patrol

KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Washington State Patrol wants reckless drivers to know that they're being watched from the sky.

Trooper Cliff Pratt reports that a State Patrol air unit observed a green Volkswagen Golf driving recklessly in and out of traffic at more than 110 miles per hour Monday in the Kirkland area.

Pratt says the air unit coordinated with ground units to get the vehicle stopped as soon as possible.

Pratt reports the 23-year-old male driver from Everett was booked into the King County Jail in Seattle for investigation of reckless driving. Pratt says the driver will also be cited for driving a motor vehicle without valid insurance.
